Know the scope
before you pay.

The checker and its supported formatting export are free. The paid service adds review of your agreed file, a repair report, delivery and one revision.

Seller and contact

CSV Rescue is a service operated by Matthew Heffernan. The existing Stripe merchant account may display ACID MARTIN. CSV Rescue is independent of Shopify. Contact csvrescuecontact@gmail.com for scope, delivery, support or deletion requests.

One supported file, $29 USD

The first three successfully delivered paid pilot jobs are $29 USD each. Each covers one UTF-8, comma-separated CSV, at most 2 MiB and 500 product rows, creating new simple products with one row per product. Supported fields and formatting repairs are listed on the scope page. We do not guess missing data.

Existing-product updates, multiple variants, images, inventory, metafields, market-specific prices, XLSX and arbitrary supplier mapping are excluded. The free checker has a separate 5,000-row limit. No subscription or multi-file pack is included.

Acceptance and delivery

Start with a redacted 5–10 row sample, row count, error message and deadline with timezone. After confirming fit, we identify the exact full file, agreed repairs, price and delivery deadline in an email quote. Reply accepting that scope and these terms before using checkout. One accepted job is handled at a time; there is no instant or universal 24-hour promise.

We begin after acceptance, the agreed file and verified payment. Delivery is by email to the agreed recipient: a separate repaired CSV, a readable change report and import instructions. Your original is preserved during review. A changed source file or deadline requires renewed agreement. If we cannot meet the deadline, you can accept a new deadline or cancel for a full refund.

Review and one revision

Within seven calendar days of delivery, reply with one consolidated revision request concerning the same source file and agreed scope. One such revision is included; its delivery time is agreed in the reply. Correcting an error introduced by us does not use up that revision. A different catalog, new requirements or excluded work needs a separate quote.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel before initial delivery for a full refund. If we cannot provide the agreed deliverables, we offer a full refund. If our delivered work fails the agreed scope, report the issue within seven calendar days; you may choose a correction or a full refund of that file's service fee. These options do not remove any rights that apply by law.

A payment made before scope acceptance does not reserve a job; contact us to resolve it, including a refund if the work is unsupported. Refund requests are reviewed manually. Approved refunds are submitted by the account owner to the original payment method within five business days; your payment provider controls when the credit appears. No refund or money transfer is performed by the checker.

Import responsibility and verification

This is a file preparation service. We do not access or change your Shopify store. Local checks do not guarantee importer acceptance or store-specific results. Version 0.1.1 was checked with a controlled import and export of three synthetic Draft products in an empty owner-authorized trial store. This does not verify every file, store setting or importer behavior; see the current delivery evidence. Review the output, back up your catalog and test a few new products with overwrite off before importing more. Do not use this pilot to update existing products. Product Status and Online Store visibility are separate: a missing Status column defaults to Active in Shopify. For an agreed unpublished test, explicitly use Status=draft and Published=FALSE, and keep overwrite and publish-all options off. We preserve supplied status values and do not invent them.

Free checker privacy

Selected or pasted files are processed in browser memory. This static checker has no catalog upload API or third-party analytics. Ordinary hosting request logs can exist. Clearing or leaving the page removes its in-memory file; your downloads remain on your device. Clicking the email request opens your own email app.

Paid review file handling

Sending a sample or catalog by email shares it with the operator and email provider. Paid review uses Gmail and a private operator workspace and may include AI-assisted review through the operator's assistant platform. Stripe processes payment details separately. Do not send store credentials, customer records, payment-card data or other sensitive personal information. Send only product data you are entitled to share.

We use the files to assess and perform the agreed work, answer support requests and resolve payment or delivery issues. Catalogs are not placed in public source, examples or marketing. Any published customer case requires separate permission.

Unaccepted samples are scheduled for manual removal from active storage and email within seven days of declining or closing the inquiry. Job catalogs, repair outputs and reports containing cell values are scheduled for manual removal within 30 days after final delivery or cancellation, unless an open support or dispute issue requires retention. Requests for earlier removal can be emailed; removal before a revision can require you to resend the file. This is a manual process, not automatic deletion or a secure-erasure guarantee. Provider trash, backups and legally required records can follow separate retention periods.

Minimal scope, payment, refund and delivery records are retained separately for accounting and dispute handling; raw catalogs are not required in that ledger. Reply if you want us to retain format preferences for a future batch; each new file still needs its own scope and acceptance.

Questions before paying

Ask us to clarify anything that affects your decision. The accepted email quote identifies your specific file, deadline and total price. Any material change to these terms for an existing order requires agreement; a later website update does not silently replace your accepted terms. Read archived v1 terms.
